If your trip includes a flight operated by another airline, the company that operates the last flight of the trip is responsible for managing the Property Irregularity Report (PIR). Therefore, you must contact this airline to process the incident.
The Property Irregularity Report is essential for processing a claim. To complete a PIR, you must notify us of an incident before you leave the arrivals area of the airport.
The PIR contains three letters corresponding to the airport code where the claim was presented, followed by UX and 5 numbers (e.g., PMIUX12345).
Once you leave the baggage claim area, you will not be able to process the PIR and the airline will be exempt from any liability.
Please note that a PIR completed at the airport is an incident report, and under no circumstances implies any admission of liability by the airline.
We locate most luggage within the first 24 hours through the WorldTracer international baggage search system. This system is used in almost 2,000 airports and by some 360 airlines to locate luggage as quickly as possible.
In accordance with Article 17.2 of the Montreal Convention, the carrier shall not be liable for damage caused to the extent that the damage is due to the nature, defect or vice of the baggage. In this sense, the normal use of baggage produces over time a wear that weakens the structure of the suitcases and, consequently, results in the aforementioned defects or vices, whose common result is the deterioration of the suitcases. Similarly, the misuse of suitcases, without respecting the manufacturer's specifications regarding weight and maximum capacity, also results in damage due to the nature and vice of the baggage, the responsibility of which must be fully assumed by the passenger. For these reasons, airlines, in accordance with the Montreal Convention, do not assume liability for minor damage and accessories that protrude from the baggage and that have been caused by the causes above.
All airlines have limited liability, so you may have greater coverage if you have a fully comprehensive, domestic, business or travel insurance policy.
Air travel is not recommended for women beyond the 36th week of pregnancy (32 weeks for twin pregnancies without complications). However, pregnant women who need to fly after this time must consult their doctor, who will decide whether they are fit to fly.
In this case, the medical certificate must contain the following information:
Any other cases and exceptions must be authorised by the Air Europa medical service.
A medical certificate is not required to travel with a leg or arm plaster cast. However, please bear in mind the 48-hour period from the fitting of the cast and, also, the flight duration time.
FOR FLIGHTS UNDER 2 HOURS:
If the cast was fitted within the last 48 hours, it should be opened lengthwise down the middle. This cut can be made at the hospital or by the airport medical service. No medical certificate is required. However, the passenger must sign a disclaimer, which can be obtained at the check-in desks (except for flights to the USA), indicating the date that the cast was fitted.
If the passenger flies after the first 48 hours from the fitting of the plaster cast, it is NOT necessary to sign the disclaimer or provide a medical certificate.
FOR FLIGHTS OVER 2 HOURS:
Within the first 48 hours of the fitting of the cast, the passenger is required to have the plaster cast opened up halfway by means of a longitudinal cut. This can be done at the hospital or by the airport medical service.
Any passengers with a plaster cast that reaches their waist or covers the entire leg must purchase the required number of seats to keep their leg elevated throughout the flight.

As this is a pilot project, facial recognition boarding is currently only available for EU/Schengen citizens travelling on flights departing from Menorca Airport. The facial recognition matching and scanning machines are currently installed at this airport.
Once the pilot project is complete, this system is expected to be deployed in all other Spanish airports where Air Europa operates.
*Temporarily disabled for health reasons.
As this is a pilot project, facial recognition boarding is currently only available at Menorca Airport. Therefore, for your connecting flight, you will have to go through standard passport control and present your passport or ID together with your boarding pass.
Once the pilot project is completed, you will be able to board using facial recognition for any flight operated by Air Europa departing from Spain.
This is an alternative form of boarding that compares the passenger's face with the photo on their ID card or passport (facial recognition). It lets you move through the airport (security control and boarding gate) without having to show your boarding card or ID.You will be granted access through these control areas simply by showing your face, which will be identified with a camera.
*Temporarily disabled for health reasons.
CHECK-IN
Check-in desks close 45 minutes before the scheduled departure of national and European flights, and 60 minutes before the scheduled departure for intercontinental flights.
If the passenger shows up once the flight is closed, Air Europa will not be held responsible for not admitting that passenger to the flight.
BOARDING
Your boarding pass shows the time at which you must at least be at your boarding gate. The boarding process can begin at any time from this time.
If you show up at the boarding gate after the time indicated on your boarding pass, you may not be accepted on the flight and Air Europa will not be held responsible for not admitting that passenger to the flight.
All flights on the same ticket with a connecting flight purchased through the Air Europa website or the Customer Service centre have a minimum connection time.
Connecting flights that do not fulfil this minimum connection time cannot be booked on the same ticket.

You can also earn Miles for using products and services offered by our non-airline partners belonging to the Air Europa SUMA programme.

SUMA Miles: those obtained by purchasing flights operated by Air Europa or by any of the SkyTeam alliance member airlines or other airline partners as they join the SkyTeam alliance. SUMA Miles are also those that can be earned from the purchase of products or services from our partners.
All SUMA Miles credited to your account can be used for airline tickets or other Air Europa SUMA products and services.
Level Miles: are those that allow you to upgrade your card to Silver, Gold or Platinum status. They accrue over a period of 12 consecutive months. If during this time you exceed the level of Miles required to upgrade your Air Europa SUMA membership, you will automatically be promoted to the new level.
This category of Miles can only be earned with the purchase of flights operated by Air Europa or any of the SkyTeam Alliance member airlines. Level Miles cannot be earned on airlines that are not members of the SkyTeam alliance or non-airline partners.
You must log in with your username and password in order to consult all your transactions for obtaining and using SUMA Miles in the My Miles section.
Miles are entered within 48 hours of the flight. After this period you will be able to consult them in your Air Europa SUMA account.
For other SkyTeam Alliance airlines, it may take up to 72 hours after the flight for the Miles to appear in your account, depending on the partner airline's procedures.
If you have not yet flown, you can provide your Air Europa SUMA card number during the check-in process on our website or app, and also at check-in at the airport. You can also call 911 360 200, if you are calling from Spain. If calling from another country, please check here.
If you have already flown, you can request the miles through our website in the section Request Unclaimed Miles. You can claim Miles whether you are flying with Air Europa or any of the SkyTeam airlines or other airline partners. It is also possible to make the request by calling 911 360 360 200, if you are calling from Spain. If you are coming from another country, please check here.
You have a period of 6 months after flying to apply for unclaimed Miles. However, when you register for the Air Europa SUMA program, you can also claim Miles for flights flown in the three months prior to your registration.
It's very important that you don't forget to enter your Air Europa SUMA card number. So when you sign up, register all your details, including your card number, so that every time you make a reservation with us it will appear automatically filled in with all the details you have given us.
Yes. You will have to claim them directly from the partner, who will ask you for the necessary documentation to be able to claim the Miles. If the application is successful, the partner will inform us and the Air Europa SUMA team will credit the Miles to your Air Europa SUMA account.
SUMA Miles only expire when the customer's account has been inactive for a period of 24 consecutive months. This is understood as when the Air Europa SUMA customer has not registered any transaction, either because he/she has not earned Miles for the purchase of a flight or product from our partners, or because he/she has not used the Miles.
The date to take into account to count the beginning of the 24-month expiration period is reflected in your account and can be accessed in the My Miles section.
No. Miles can only be booked on the Air Europa SUMA card of the flying customer.
Air Europa SUMA customers can use the Miles for tickets in their own name or in the name of another person. Therefore, it is not only the Air Europa SUMA cardholder who can take advantage of the flights or other services where Miles must be used.
Use your SUMA Miles to pay for your tickets in full with Miles, or by using Miles and cash. The mixed payment method can only be used for flights operated by Air Europa. For flights operated by any of the SkyTeam alliance airlines, payment must be made in full in Miles.
Please note that airport taxes are exempt from payment with Miles and from the application of the discount. Remember that to use your Miles for flights operated by Air Europa, you will need to use a minimum of 1,500 Miles. If you want to use your Miles for our partners' products or services, you can do so from a minimum of 2,000 Miles.
Only when the payment for the flight is a combination of Miles and cash will you receive the corresponding Miles for the part of the flight paid for with cash. If you have paid for the flight in full with Miles, you will not receive SUMA Miles.
Yes. In this case, the customer or individual flying gets the SUMA Miles and the company continues to get the same services from Air Europa with the corporate program.

The personal information collected from registered users is stored in an automated or non-automated file for which Air Europa is responsible and which contains the technical, organizational and security measures that guarantee the confidentiality and integrity of the information in accordance with the provisions of Spanish legislation on data protection.
You will be able to access your Air Europa SUMA profile through a personal username and password that you will have validated when you registered in the Air Europa SUMA program.
For the evaluation of the Air Europa SUMA level, both the number of Miles earned and the number of flights performed are taken into account, as shown in the following link:
Level Miles earned when flying with Air Europa or any of the SkyTeam Alliance airlines count.
Miles acquired through purchases of products or services from Our partners or other airline partners that do not belong to the SkyTeam alliance do not count.
No. The calculation of Miles or the number of flights counted towards a higher level is done by taking into account the Miles transactions made in your Air Europa SUMA account in the last 12 months. Any new transaction in your account updates the calculation period for another 12 months.
Miles or flights used for the computation are not lost by accessing a higher level. Miles are only no longer counted for a level increase calculation when there has been no transaction in the product history of your Air Europa SUMA account after a period of 12 consecutive months.
The calculation of Miles for upgrading is dynamic and takes place every time new Miles are credited to your Air Europa SUMA account. At the same time, the period of eligibility for the review of access to a higher level is updated for a further 12 months.

Plusgrade is a system through which you make a bid to fly in Business. Not all flights have the option to upgrade, so the passenger must first check if they are eligible.
When you place a bid, you have to specify the price you are willing to pay and provide your credit card details. Nothing will be charged to the card unless you win the bid.
You can bid up to 6 hours before your flight's scheduled departure time. Five and a half hours before the scheduled departure time, we will inform you by email of the result. If your proposal is accepted, we will charge the amount you indicated to your bank card. If your proposal is rejected, however, the tourist class seat you initially booked will remain available.
You can change or cancel any upgrade bid you placed up to 6 hours before your flight's departure.
The upgrade bid is per flight segment and does not apply to connecting flights. Each eligible flight segment must be bid on separately. The bid also applies to all the customers who are shown on the original booking.
In order to upgrade, the passenger MUST have previously checked in the original booking (using any of the methods offered by the company).
Buying a Business class ticket directly ensures you a seat in the Business cabin, and all of its advantages, including more luggage: check up to two 32-kg bags. The bidding process does not guarantee that Business class seats will be available, or that you will win the bid. You also won't know if you won until a few hours before the departure time. As for luggage, you are limited to your tourist class allowance, meaning you will not be entitled to carry more luggage.
Finally, any special requirements inserted in the original booking, such as requests for meals and seats, are not guaranteed in the upgraded booking.
You can bid on a Business class seat up to 6 hours before your flight's departure.
We will let you know if your bid was accepted by sending you an email 5 hours and 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time.
Yes, provided that Air Europa has not accepted the bid, i.e., 6 hours before departure time.
Once your bid is accepted, you will not be able to request a refund, transfer it or change it (i.e., change the date, flight or destination).
The upgrade bid can only be refunded if:
• The flight segment is cancelled by Air Europa and Air Europa cannot rebook its upgraded customers on an alternative flight in Business class.
• A delayed flight (connecting tickets) causes the customer to lose their connection and Air Europa cannot rebook customers with upgraded tickets on an alternative flight in Business class.
• Air Europa cannot accommodate customers with an upgraded booking in Business class due to operational or safety reasons that result in Business class seats not being available.
Do you have a fear of flying?
If the answer is yes, we can help you. Since 2009, Air Europa has been offering its "Losing the Fear of Flying" course with a success rate of almost 98%.
The "Losing the Fear of Flying" courses are run by Alfonso de Bertodano, a pilot with more than 28 years of experience and a Captain of Boeing 787 aircraft with over 15,000 flight hours. He is a psychologist (Licence No.: M-26714) and a fear of flying specialist. His combined knowledge of both fields, aviation and psychology, is one of the reasons why these courses are so successful.
The content is based on the most effective therapy techniques to overcome phobias and basic aviation knowledge covering every aspect of flying, operating procedures, meteorology, maintenance, and security measures used today.
You will also learn exercises to control and manage your anxiety and have the chance to put them into practice on two round trip flights.
You will implement these techniques during the flights under the supervision of psychologists and Bertodano himself, who will explain all phases of the flight and any circumstances that may arise.
The course lasts for two days and is held in Madrid, Barcelona, and Palma de Mallorca.

When you place an order for plane tickets on the Air Europa website, it's important to note that you can only purchase tickets with the same characteristics, such as the date, origin, destination, and price. This means that the price we offer you for all tickets in the same order will be the same. However, there may be individual tickets available at a lower price that won't be shown to you if you purchase multiple tickets in a single order.
To find these cheaper tickets, you'll need to reduce the number of passengers in your search and place a separate order. It's important to remember that the search results display the availability of tickets at a specific moment. If you decide not to complete the purchase process to split the order, the tickets we offered you may sell out and no longer be available.
